Seminar Description: Treasury is a key finance function that is vital to the financial health and success of every business, large or small. The treasury function has evolved from traditional cash and liquidity management to a more strategic function encompassing broader working capital, corporate finance and risk management activities. Treasury involves the management of money and financial risks in a business. Its priority is to ensure the business has the money it needs to manage its day-to-day business obligations, while also helping develop its long term financial strategy and policies.

As a treasury professional you’re essentially a trusted advisor to the business on financial matters, always looking forward and planning how you can add value and drive success. The decisions you make will have a direct impact on performance and profits.

It is the treasury professional’s role to identify, assess and manage these risks so they support the business’s objectives. You’ll also help to identify and create new opportunities that could benefit the business.

This course is being offered to provide treasury professionals and financial managers alike that are looking to gain an understanding of the treasury function, and apply the fundamental principles of the treasury function within the finance department of their organizations.

In this course participants will learn:
• The key functions of the treasury department, including but not limited to:
• FP+A
o Working Capital Management
o Cash Management, Money and Capital Markets

o Treasury Operation and Control
To solidify the principles learned, participants will work through detailed calculations (e.g. components of WACC, foreign exchange contracts, financial modeling), case studies (e.g. to pull the knowledge together prepare a WACC calculation, hedging program for FX and interest rate swaps, prepare a financial model to forecast financial statements and cash flow and apply cash flow management strategies, recommend changes to a Treasury’s Department operations and control), and examples. Quizzes are provided for the participants to test their understanding.
