Seminar Description: The objective of this two-day seminar is to provide participants with a solid introduction to the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs) incorporated as part of CPA Canada Handbook – Accounting – Part I. IFRSs that are under development at the IASB with expectation of introduction during the next year will also be reviewed. The focus is on the IFRSs that apply to most profit-oriented entities.

The seminar will provide an awareness of the foundation of IFRSs, a basic understanding of the content each of the IFRSs covered followed by a comparison to CPA Canada Handbook – Accounting – Part II ASPE). Examples are incorporated for participants to identify application issues

This seminar is not recommended for participants who have taken IFRS: A Comparison to IFRS.

Audit committee members wishing to gain an understanding of IFRSs may find this a useful seminar.
